Our program:

  • Teaches you fraud detection, auditing, financial and accounting rules, and the use and misuse of information technology.
  • Prepares you for the CPA. Add to your bachelor’s degree (126 hours) to attain the 150 hours needed for the CPA. This eight-course, 24-credit hour program will fill the gap.
  • Works with your schedule. All classes are on evenings or weekends. Take advantage of the flexibility to fit this special certificate into your life.
  • Allows full-time or part-time attendance. Full-time status usually involves a course load of nine or more credit hours. Part-time student status usually entails a 1-8.5 credit-hour load.

    Admission Requirements

    Admission decisions are based on an undergraduate GPA, GMAT score (if needed), work experience, and other degrees.

    • Complete the Online Application (application fee is waived);
    • Official transcripts for all previous academic work;
    • A resume;
    • Letter of Recommendation (included in the online application); and
    • Applicants are welcome to include any other information they feel is important to the admission consideration. This information can be uploaded while completing the online application.

    Requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Forensic Accounting (24 credits)

    Course Curriculum

    The program consists of eight courses (24 credit hours).

    Foundation Courses

    Students are expected to demonstrate a minimum competence in accounting. This is possible by evidence in their transcript or by successfully completing ACC 5100 and/or ACC 5200.

    MBA with Certificate

    The certificate may be completed as a stand-alone program or in conjunction with our MBA degree program.

    A student who completed the Graduate Certificate in Forensic Accounting would need only eight additional courses to complete the MBA degree; or conversely, a student who completed the MBA degree with three accounting electives from the certificate would need only three more courses to complete the certificate.
