Biography

Nihad Dukhan is a professor of Mechanical Engineering and a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). He teaches thermal science courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Dukhan's research interests are focused on experimental, analytical and numerical modeling of flow and heat transfer in metal foam in various thermal-management applications. He is the author of more than 165 referred scientific/engineering papers and has edited the most recent book on metal foam's fundamentals and applications.

He is a member of the international scientific committee of the biannual conference on metal foam. Dukhan's research has been funded by Ford Motor Company, Constellium, DENSO North America, Chrysler Foundation, NSF's Center for Power Electronics and Systems at Virginia Tech and Pratt & Whitney.

Dukhan joined the University in 2005 and was honored with 樱桃视频's Faculty Achievement Award in 2011. During the 2014-15 academic year, he was a Fulbright Scholar at Instanbul Technical University in Instanbul, Turkey. Dukhan earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toledo in 1996 and has worked in academia and for the industry.
