Biography
Dr. Michelle Whalen, DNP, RN, NNP-BC, CNE is an associate professor of Nursing in the McAuley School of Nursing.
She is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society, Society for Simulation in Healthcare, International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning, and the National Association of Neonatal Nurses and Nurse Practitioners.
Her focus in teaching includes pediatric nursing, obstetric nursing, nursing research, nursing leadership and integrated senior seminar courses.
In addition to teaching, Dr. Whalen practices as a neonatal nurse practitioner in the Neonatal ICU at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Whalen completed a research fellowship at the University of Michigan and was recognized for her work in 2022 as a runner up in Excellence in Advanced Practice Nursing for Oakland University's prestigious Nightingale Award.
